Welcome to the FaunaDB documentation!

Foggy Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco

Hi! FaunaDB is a global, transactional NoSQL database for mission-critical data. But maybe you already knew that.

If you are totally new to FaunaDB, we recommend checking out What is FaunaDB?, trying out the Quick start with Fauna Shell, and then working through How to Create, Retrieve, Update, and Delete Objects in FaunaDB.

Check out our technical white paper for a quick stroll through FaunaDB’s features and benefits.

Overview

Our How to… chapter describes how to accomplish various data storage, retrieval, and querying tasks.

The Reference chapter describes in detail all of the functions available in the Fauna Query Language, how instance objects, classes, and databases work, how to work with indexes and sets, and provides an overview of FaunaDB’s security, a glossary of terminology, and links to all of the supported drivers.

Finally, the Release notes chapter describes how FaunaDB and the Cloud Console have evolved.
